Dudu

Dudu is a young girl from a small village in Zimbabwe. She wants to be a doctor and help others when she finishes her schooling.

However, Dudu suffered from malnutrition, resulting in severe stomach ache, poor concentration, sleepiness and making her vulnerable to disease. The lack of wholesome food was affecting her day-to-day life and her studies.

The difficult economic situation in Zimbabwe splits many families, and children are often left with grandparents as parents leave their villages to secure work and send money back to support their families.

“There is this porridge which comes from South Africa; my teacher says I have to eat it. I ate it, and now I feel much better.,” says 11-year-old Dudu.

Through our food.gives programme Barnabas Aid sends ePap from South Africa to Zimbabwe. Just 12p a day provides Dudu with her helping of ePap containing vitamins, minerals and protein – essential for brain development and to fight infections.

Barnabas is sending over 400 tonnes of ePap to four countries in southern Africa, enough to restore health to 200,000 malnourished children and adults Barnabas Aid provides practical help for suffering and persecuted Christians in over 100 countries: from Christians, through Christians, to Christians. www.barnabasfund.org
